8/9/21 Alassa statement today at the Monday demo

My name is Alassa Mfouapon, federal spokesman for the Friends of Solidarity

Ever since my return to Germany in December 2018, I've always expected this day, meaning it's not new to me, it's a government tactic.
Deporting refugees without a concrete analysis of their asylum applications is a shame for this government and especially for Horst Seehofer, especially for people like me who fight for democratic rights and freedom. I am outraged that this type of deportation is still possible today.

We experience deportation terror every month in Germany. Thus the government claims that these countries are "safe countries of origin" and says that some refugees are not taken as refugees but are considered economic refugees.

They all say that our reasons for fleeing are not enough reasons, but they forget that no one leaves their country for nothing. I had my reasons to flee, but the Federal Office for Migration put my life story under a condition and say everything is a lie. In the rejection of my asylum decision they write:
"In appraisal of the entire facts, the applicant's follow-up application must be rejected as obviously unfounded due to the contradictions shown in the notification, and in particular due to the residence of the applicant's alleged wife in Italy in the period from 2015 to 2017. Measured against this, the applicant's son cannot have been killed before his eyes. Capture in Libya is also unlikely, since the wife was in Italy in 2016 and therefore could not flee from Algeria to Libya with the applicant.” (Page 10)

Ie the Federal Office does not believe me at all. I'm sure there is a political motivation behind this justification, because these things are facts: my son died in the Mediterranean, although not in front of me, because I was captured in Libya and I went to a concentration camp. I was married, not supposedly, and we fled from Algeria to Libya. It's a disrespect to Darel, my son.

Like other refugees, I am also threatened with deportation and today I will not only speak about myself but for all refugees who are to be deported.
Deportation is murder, we've seen that before and we all know how many refugees have lost their lives, doubt their lives just because they keep thinking about deportation.

What kind of asylum policy is it when a country takes in refugees and they don't have the opportunity to integrate?

There are more than 1000 (many more) refugees in Germany who are unemployed, hopeless, have become ill only because the government delays in recognizing their asylum and thus reducing the chance of integration.

In 2019, as an asylum seeker, I had to fight against hate speech and defamation just because I am an asylum seeker who did not accept the arbitrary treatment of refugees in Germany. In addition, I am committed to the rights of a refugee, because I was sure and I was convinced that everyone has the right to escape, everyone has the right to a free life. What was the response from the media in cooperation with the government: labeling Alassa as a criminal ringleader.

Despite all this, with the help of solidarity, I won a long court case against all this incitement. In the meantime, I have sued the state of Baden-Württemberg against this illegality in Ellwangen 2018. Always with the help of Solidarity and our law firm, we have won the case and have shown how illegal the police had behaved on those days.
Where was the federal office that protects refugees?

My comments today based on experience is that after every success against right-wing developments, I will always pay a bill.
One morning in mid-June 2020, on World Refugee Day, I was suddenly deported to Italy. Today, after our victory in the trial in Ellwangen, I am threatened with deportation to Cameroon in a week. The Federal Office did not work out my asylum application well at all and gave superficial explanations that my ex-wife and I lied because she was allegedly already in Italy in 2015. You could have just checked the files to see when my ex-wife handed in her fingerprints in Italy and everything would be clear.

At the time, many said that I had received everything from the federal government and that the lazy refugee didn't want to integrate. Integration is what all refugees in every country they flee to always want to do first. They also take part in language courses and learn about the history of the country. That wasn't the case for me because I simply hadn't received any integration and wasn't allowed to attend the language course. Always with support and with the help of solidarity, I learned the German language and finally got an apprenticeship. I'm already at the beginning of my third year of training.
As an apprentice, I'm not allowed to live in the training location because the city of Gelsenkirchen refuses to take me in, even though I wouldn't ask for any costs from the city.
On the contrary, instead of enjoying the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act, I pay a lot at the federal treasury. Three quarters of my trainee salary goes to the federal treasury and to this day I still have to pay for the apartment in the accommodation in Ravensburg, although I'm not there often and, logically enough, they almost doubled the rent in the refugee accommodation last year. I don't get any benefits from the school for the monthly ticket because I'm not registered in Gelsenkirchen. I was also denied vocational training grants.
It was already clear to me that it would not be easy for refugees from Africa to get asylum in Germany. That's why I tried right from the start to learn the German language, to find an apprenticeship, and to accept all challenges. I couldn't sleep day or night because I just wanted to integrate. And today comes the rejection.
Many get a trauma in this situation. But I won't let that get me down, because for me every step of this fight was worth it. We will sue, appeal and do whatever we can to fight for my right to stay and for all refugees who deserve it.
I demand: Immediate revision of the rejection of my asylum application and all unjustly rejected asylum applications!!!
I demand: Equality in the treatment of asylum applications!
Seehofer has to step back for this mess!!!
