"Now we're talking" was the self-confident title of the first press conference of the refugees in Ellwangen after the martial, racist and illegal police operation against refugees in the state initial reception facility (LEA) on May 3rd, 2018. This work program is based on the work that has developed enormously since then and summarizes the main results of the 1st Refugee Policy Congress with "Now let's talk - 2.0!".

  1. We see an increase in the causes of flight all over the world and fight against the exploitation of the resources of the countries of the world, their people and nature and in particular the tightening of the refugee policy of those in power. We see this development - depending on the partly different political point of view - as inhumane, colonial or imperialistic. We are preparing for the dramatic increase in refugee flows in the future.
  2. We are already realizing our social goal in our cooperation: There must be no first and second class people! We are realizing a paradigm shift: instead of profit and power - solidarity and cooperation in equal rights. Depending on your political point of view, we call our social goal a good life, democracy, freedom or socialism.
  3. We strengthen the community, especially against the right-wing development of the government in Germany and the EU and the dangers of fascism and war. We want to work together across borders in the future.
  4. Get organized! We have to keep working together! Depending on the political point of view in the circle of friends Alassa & Friends, in refugee initiatives, in democratic or revolutionary organizations in the country in which we live.
  5. We network! The Alassa & Friends circle of friends is an integral part of Solidarity International (SI) and the Internationalist Alliance and in the future will also be part of other refugee-political or trade union networks.
  6. We overcome fear! False friends advise us not to fight because it endangers us. We are careful and protective of each other, but follow the basic line: only those who fight can win!
  7. We don't leave anyone alone: Every visit to the authorities should be accompanied, every harassment and every form of discrimination must be made public!
  8. We do active public relations work - every newspaper article should get the response it deserves.
  9. We legally and politically demand the hard-won democratic rights and freedoms. Every process also belongs on the street! We accuse the EU and the German government of their criminal cooperation with the Libyan regime.
  10. We demand the dissolution of all camps, "anchor centers" or regulations that discriminate against, harass and humiliate the refugees - whether in Germany, Libya, Italy or Greece.
  11. We place particular emphasis on women's specific demands and interests and call for the recognition of gender-specific persecution as a reason for asylum.
  12. The majority of the world's population is young - the fight for the future of children and young people is particularly important to us.
  13. Don't just work and fight together - get together, get to know each other, celebrate together and cultural events that strengthen our sense of community.
  14. Show civil courage! Bravely and committedly disrupt the processes that are as bureaucratic as they are heartless! Take a stand against racism in the workplace, in the waiting room, in schools! Fight for the appreciation of the courageous fighters against racism and the causes of flight. We propose Alassa Mfouapon for recognition by the (alternative) Nobel Prize.
  15. Let's organize political awareness and education. We are and will be experts, pass on our knowledge and realize mutual learning - not least about the rulers and the functioning of the capitalist system in Germany. We clarify the reasons for flight and also realize solidarity with struggles in all our countries of origin and continents.
  16. This society is very rich - money abounds! It has to go where it is needed - and therefore also to us. We work financially independently, but we also ask for the financial strengthening of our work from our tax money, from donations and funds.
  17. We protest against anti-communist intrigues that defame and badmouth our cooperation between refugees and democratic and revolutionary forces in Germany. Beware of false friends who want to undermine self-organization. Zero tolerance for exclusion!
  18. We don't want dependence on any party. Many of us are non-party, but all dedicated and honest party members are invited to work with us on an anti-fascist basis. We also encourage cooperation with unions and workers in the workplace.
  19. Put your words into action, become a troublemaker! Let's get started - right now!
  20. The fight goes on until justice prevails.
